A Condo Association’s Master Policy does not always provide coverage for anything within the interior walls of each unit including the owner’s personal property.
To fully protect themselves and their property within the unit, an owner will need to purchase an HO-6 (Condo Unit Owners Policy). If the condo unit becomes damaged, burglarized or a guest is injured, this type of insurance policy will help protect the owner against a property or a personal injury loss. A Condo Owners Policy can provide coverage for: additions and alterations, personal property, loss of rent, liability and medical payments to others.
Chalk and Gibbs can help you review the condo association’s by-laws to determine what types of and how much coverage you need.
